THE WORKSHOPS

In December 1997 with the support of the Diocesan Caritas organization in Alba Iulia we opened our first workshops. This was a therapeutic activity for adult persons with physical and mental disability.

Candle-making workshop

Four people can be seen at work in this workshop. They are making simple and decorative candles. Their products are exhibited in different exhibitions and they are used for humanitarian purposes too.

Weaving workshop

Carpets and towels are hand-woven in this workshop on traditional hand weaving equipment. Here two people can be seen involved in this activity, whilst another prepares the material, a fourth person is working on the final product.

Sewing workshop

Two persons sew pillows, pillowcases and other household textiles. Many samples of their work have been displayed in different exhibitions and presentations locally.

Work-therapy at home

This kind of work-therapy consists of making different toys from wood and wire at home. These have been found to be extremely successful and very popular products.
